See the file `mailers.txt' availabe in private/project/standards
(perhaps debian/doc/standards or something by now).
It says that you should use the FSSTND-compliant location to call your
MTA, which is /usr/sbin/sendmail.

When mailing someone an article or replying to an article in mail
tin tries to use /usr/bin/smail. smail is in /usr/sbin. It's also
debatable whether it should even use smail. I think it should be
using sendmail as smail installs links for sendmail, /usr/lib/sendmail
and /usr/sbin/sendmail.
