While running tex, I got the message
sh: MakeTeXTeX: command not found
several times. Following the first occurance of this error message I
got several error messages about overfull \hbox and overfull \vbox.
What is MakeTexTex? Why isn't it included?

MakeTeXTeX is a small script that is called when TeX wants to read a
file with \input or \openin which can't be found in the search path. It
can be used to call additional tools like bibtex or makeindex. The file
is not necessary for normal TeX users. You can create an empty shell
script to avoid the "command not found" message.

MakeTeXTeX is intended to be a shell script to be called when
TeX tries to open a file for input and fails. It is a hook analogously
to MakeTeXPK intended to make missing pixel files.
Currently there is not application for this hook.
One could think of creating indices, .. I am open for ideas,
but for now, it suffices to say
echo "#!/bin/sh" > /usr/bin/MakeTeXTeX
chmod a+x /usr/bin/MakeTeXTeX
to stop the annoying messages.
Due to an error here, it was omitted from the distribution.
This is corrected in the new (but yet completely untested
and not uploaded TeX-release)
