I have been mirroring ftp.debian.org on a trial basis and have run
into something strange. The timestamps of the files in
ftp.debian.org:/debian/debian-bugs/html appear to be reset every day
at around 7am. This causes my mirror script to unnecessarily download
1000+ files every day. :-/
BTW, this *is* correct behavior for a mirror script since a change in
timestamp may indicate a change in the contents of a file. In this
case, the contents of every bug report does not change daily so
something must be wrong.

FYI: I am not causing this to happen. So it must be in one of the cron
sctrips that are running on the system.

I did not mean to imply that you were causing it. I think you are
right about the cron scripts.
BTW, I just noticed that _all_ files aren't changed every day. I
checked some of them at random for the last three days and
(coincidently) the ones I checked changed each day. Regardless, it's
probably not a good idea to be messing around with the timestamps.
