Hi. I've just tried out Darksun: Shattered Lands, and found it to be
great on the GUS. Everything seemed to be fine, until I got into combat
with the guards. Then the game crashed, giving me "Parity Error".
I was using QEMM6.04, GMouse (Mouse drivers) and NCache2. I also changed
the DARKSUN.BAT's "lh ultramid...." to "loadhi ultramid".

After this crash, I tried out another configuration: UMBDRV522 + GMouse.
The game crashed again when I fought the Templar.

What I want to know is: Is this some kinda bug in this game, or is it
something to do with my configuration?

Thanx!

I don't think so. The engine sound is a very complex sound. Since the
sound is continiuously and linked to the throttle level, the sample has to
have infintite patches otherwise you will hear discontinuity when you
play with the accelerator :-).

Too bad all these F1 cars are normally-aspirated, I miss the whistling sound
of the turbo in the old F1 cars.

Has anyone successfully made Privateer work with the GUS??
I don't want to waste my money on something that won't work, since
software returns are one thing you can't do here in Australia.

Make sure all the patches specified in the mt32pat.cfg exist in the
\ultrasnd\midi directory. Copy the mt32pat.cfg to the directory where
your mt32 mids are, and rename it to default.cfg. The playmidi as usual.

Also remember to vmap your mt32 mids before playing them.
