Subject: 256K-16bit DRAM for GUS

__________________________________________________________________________

Can anyone please give me an idea where to get the 256K, 16-bit (40pin)
surface mount DRAM for a 512K GUS upgrade to 1Mb in Canada or US. The
required part numbers are:

	OKI MSM514260A

	NEC 424S4260LE-70
		424260LE-70

	TI TM545160DZ

About how much is this chip cost and where can I get a better deal? This
upgrade is intended for the UltraSound ACE (an excellent card!). Thanks
in advance.

Subject: GUS and disappearing mouse -- ANSWER!

Well, this is how _I_ got my mouse working with my GUS again...

I simply opened my machine and switched the GUS address to 210. That's it!
So, I am figuring that everybody else's mouse problems are simply due to
address conflicts that may be different for everybody. If you want, try
switching addresses. I remember now that my problems started right after I
switched my GUS to 240.

Hope somebody else benefits from this.

Craig

Subject: NMI Error on Pentium Motherboard

Can anyone tell me how I can tell if I have parity ram or not. I have
2-72pin 8 meg simms. They have 8 chips on each side of the simm for a
total of 16 chips per simm. I remember 30 pin simms w/parity had 9
chips and non-parity had 8 chips. Is this true for 72 pin simms as
well? The simms are made by Texas Instruments, 60 nanoseconds and have
	 something like _ _ _ _ 4400 _ _ on them. The " _ " means I don't
remember what the letters are. Any help is greatly appreciated as I
have been trying to solve my NMI problem for some time.

	 Thanks, Daryl

Aloha...

After playing around with my computer my GUS (v3.37) stopped working.
When i run(Autoexec) the ultrainit program (2.23) my computer locks up.
When i start up without the ultrainit line and run the Gus setup.exe program
and chose advance and test, this happens,

OFF BOARD PARITY ERROR
ADDR (HEX) (0000:0002)
SYSTEM HALTED.

Please advice...

This is my first EVER problem with my GUS.
(I had none what so ever problem with my Sound Galxy NX pro and my GUS!!)

GUSsers, the new MegaEM just popped up on Epas. The text says it is
compatible with "some protected mode games". Let's hope it works on
the majority of pmode games.

Oooops, I forgot how to correct the sound problem with Dark Forces and
Full Throttle. More specifically, I got a demo CD with these two games
with Computer Gaming World. The games do not come with GUS drivers so
how do I get sound? I tried using SBOS but it didn't seem to work.

What do I need to do?

I just got US Navy Fighters and have downloaded the patch from Gravis. The
sound works perfect but I get no Music has any body got Music to work. There
is so much going on with the sounds I may not want music on anyway but I
would like to give it a try. I have downloaded the newest megaem and I guess
I am one of the lucky ones who has one of the old boards that it will not
work with. Oh well GUS still sounds better than anything else out there.
Thanks for any help!!!

Subject: Windows_95 B405

Since installing Windows95 B405 on my 486DX4, my Gravis Max is really
F***ED UP, the MIDI is low quality and jerks around.
I have version 3.59 disks, 8meg, Diamond64PCI; if that helps.

If anyone knows what the problem is please help, cause after
having a taste of Windows95, I'll find returning to 3.1 a real bummer.
Windows gives me a lot of registry errors, what ever they are, and
sometimes complains about the display being configured wrong. Maybe Windows
 is where the problem lies?

				Thanks, George
