Mike,

Exact same experience here. A friend who uses a PAS loaned me the demo, and
I was not able to pick a MIDI device either. I looked at the video "ad" and
it ran ok, but when I ran the actual demo, I got a few minutes in and then
--lockup!

Oh well, looks like a great game, but I'm going to have to wait and see if
the "real deal" has better GUS support.

Armored Fist does NOT include any SBOS program. I couldn't get any sound
out of the game. I know I tried megaem, and I'm not sure if I tried the
regular SBOS.

I'm posting this message here in case the sysop at EPAS will read this.
Please clean the EPAS submit directory. Uploaders such as I cannot
upload anything since the disk is full.

GUS users, those who were looking for the LOL patch, I'm sorry. I cannot
upload it now due to insufficient diskspace at EPAS. 8-(

Are there other ways to order the CD? I do not like dialing numbers not
local to where I am.

Im glad im not the only with the problem. Im lucky i have a SB16 so i
can get sound but it must be more frustrating for those with only a GUS.

Its obvious dynamix dont beta test very well because its such an obvious
error!.. Its disappointing that a large software house like dynamix cant
get GUS support functioning when some of these smaller shareware software
houses like Epic , ID , Apogee ..etc can.!

Subject: GUS FAQ 2.01 [94/11/01]

A new version of the GUS FAQ has been released. It contains quite a few
updates from 2.00. If anyone wants it, please email me (I've sent it to
all those who have emailed me to date). Also if anyone wants to
automatically get the FAQ revisions as soon as they're ready please
indicate that in email as well (this goes for those who have already
emailed me...please email me again if you want to be on this list).

Once again I will attempt to put it on an FTP site such as
wuarchive.wustl.edu, but it is not available there yet. Also, who
maintains epas and if they're reading this, could they please clear out a
little space so new FAQ revisions can be sent there?

And of course, if anyone has any additions or revisions for the FAQ,
please send them to me.

I'm sorry to be using so much space in this group, but I just wanted to
let everyone know that the FAQ is now available on epas:

ftp://archive.epas.utoronto.ca/pub/pc/ultrasound/submit/gusfaq.txt.v2.01

Hopefully this will be the last announcement about the FAQ for a while
(with the exception of updates and revisions).

Thank you for your time and patience.

I may have missed this a while back, but could someone explain what the
HMI drivers are ??? And what I need to run programs that use these drivers
(i.e. "loadpats" ???).

Thanks,

Regarding Metaltech, I couldn't even get it to work with my SBPro properly.
It seems to me Dynamix had really screwed up working on the sound on this
game. Besides, the weird thing about it is that the drums and beat is from
digitized source while the instruments are from the soundcards.

I recently received a used GUS v2.4 w/ 1 MB of RAM, but
with no documentation of any sort. I installed the GUS
with the v3.53 install disks. Apparently for some of Z
software to work certain DOS environment variables such
as "ULTRASND" and "GUSMOD" have to be set. I would ap-
preciate it if someone would E-Mail me his/her autoexec
and config settings, so I can work backwards from there
in order to get my GUS working at 100%

Subject: Tie Fighter problem

Hi ya all.

I have a GUSMAX. Tie Fighter was running perfectly with the onboard 512K
RAM. Today I put in another 512K DRAM having a total of 1MB RAM on my
GUSMAX. Everything worx fine, EXCEPT Tie Fighter. The GMIDI music is
excellent, but I cannot get any sound effects out of it. Instead it is
just giving me crappy upward going pitches when sound supposed to be
heard on the exact same setup. Belive me, I tried everything - except the
solution that makes TF work... :) Must be something wrong in the special
MegaEm's SoundBlaster setup. Anyone has an idea I can use?

I would appreciate ANY help,

Could any body tell me what is on this CD, how much it costs (in
pounds) and where I could possibly get it in the UK.

Thanks,
