In fact the latest one is 1.23 (beta?), available at archive.epas.utoronto.ca
in /pub/pc/ultrasound/submit (or soundutil/).

For some reason when try to play some midi files I get a "Load Patch Failed (filename.pat) - 7" error... What causes this? Can anyone help? Is it because I only have the 256k of memory? And I have to upgrade?

Thanks.

After installing the newest version of the beta SBOS <the one that is loaded
as a device driver ... I can't remember the version offhand> I have had good
sucess with programs running. Except for WOWII. It won't even start. It just
jams up the computer making me do a warm boot. I have gone through all the
available settings <making sure to use the ones needed for Soundblaster
emulation> to no avail. WOWII worked just fine on version 1.22 beta.

BTW: I am using an 80286 16MHz clone with 1 Meg of memory.

What bugs did SBOS 1.23 fix? What programs should we run to test out the
improvements?

When, oh, when will the MIDI patch loader be ready?

Once again, is there a MOD player that has the anti-aliasing feature?
And which also allow clear, crisp stereo output? WOWII's output degrades
when you select the stereo option (wowii.exe /pro filename.mod).

Off the top of my head, didn't someone post the info that DMA channels 5-7 are
16 bit? I don't have the tech ref in front of me so I can't look it up. If
so this may account for differences in behaviour (dma 3/5)?

I've recently experienced difficulty with sbos and windows. After I
played games with sbos, I unloaded it and coldboot my machine once to start
windows, but 2 out of 3 times, strange sounds come out after the windows was
loaded, part of the sounds are the sounds of the games I played before I re-
booted the machine. This doesn't happen before I upgraded the card to 1 Mb.
I've tried to unloaded the sbos, type ultrainit and then reboot my
machine before running windows. Still strange sounds come back sometimes. I
personally think the problem is the ram on the GUS. Is there a way to make
sure the sound of the games loaded by sbos to be cleared definitely before
I run windows, coldboot and ultrinit, I've tried, Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
